I like idea 1. I like that the text is broken up by the pictures. I think there needs to be more content though, your text is quite big and the some of the stories sound really similar
I like your first idea, the content is categorized nicely and the design is good with the boxes and pictures moved around rather than the second idea which is just solid columns.
